Artist Statement

A story of love is the overarching theme of my work—the journey to find it, revel, cherish and protect it, the pain of losing it.

I find common ground where we are all connected, through nature, the human condition, and the energy all around us that drives us forward. My story is real, sometimes raw, and emotionally charged, expressed through symbolism and poetic gestures. I bring my emotions and the entirety of my subconscious to the work, and through complete vulnerability uncover the strength to forge healing. I return often to the divine feminine, to rediscover the beauty of inner power and resilience that conquers all. The work is vast in concept and style, while always human and relatable, because our art should be as complex and ever-changing as we are.

What art is for me

As an artist, I have found a way to channel my trauma and transform it into something beautiful. Through painting, I have discovered a voice that speaks louder than the pain that once silenced me. My art is not just a depiction of my trauma, it is a manifestation of the strength and resilience I have developed through my journey.

In my work, I often use symbolism and surrealism to express the complexities of my experiences. The female form is a recurring motif, representing both vulnerability and power. Through undulating gestures, I aim to convey a sense of movement and fluidity, capturing the ebb and flow of emotions that come with trauma.

My art is not just a form of self-expression, it is a means of healing. Painting allows me to confront my past and process my emotions in a way that words cannot. It is through my art that I have found a way to release the pain that once consumed me and transform it into something meaningful.

Through my journey as an artist, I have learned that strength is not just about overcoming adversity, but about finding the beauty in the struggle. My art is a reflection of this journey - a testament to the power of creativity and the human spirit.
